The leader of the highlands is calling for Tinubu to declare an emergency over the unrelenting attack

A community leader in the Bokkos Regional Government in the State Highlands, Da Yohana Margif, has asked the Ball President Ahmed Tinubu to immediately declare an emergency in the state to stop the uninstall murder and bloodshed by the Fulani militia gang.

Da Margif, who was the Waziri Mushere in Bokkos LGA, filed an appeal to the President during a press conference in JOS on Wednesday, said the emergency had become necessary after repeated violence committed by Fulani’s robbers who continued to surround several communities, killed natives, fired them from their homes and took over their land.

Margif, a former candidate for the Labor Party Governor in the 2023 governor election in the state, said that by means of the Fulani militia continued to release violence to the bokkos, it would be a matter of time before they would all be destroyed.

When arguing about the need for Tinubu to declare an emergency in the highlands, Margif said that it was the only way to stop the ongoing bloodshed and withdraw land by armed terrorists who had taken over the control of seven villages in Bokkos.

“The murder and destruction of a savage house continues even today, Tuesday, August 5, 2025,” Waziri said while handling a press conference.

“Seven communities have been arrested, and many lives have been lost. Nobody knows what will happen next. People cannot sleep and are helpless.

“Innocent villagers have been slaughtered, their homes are on fire, and their ancestral land forcibly takes over. The families that are moved are now roaming as refugees in their homeland.

“I asked the Tinubu Ball President to declare an emergency in the state of Plateau before we all left.

“The main task of any government is to protect life and property. If it fails to do that, then he does not have an existing business,” complained Margif.

He, however, warned that except the federal government immediately intervene, more blood will flow, and the entire community in the state will become extinct.
