The Leader of the Scottish Party, Wales and N Ireland united to criticize Starmer over Israel-Gaza’s attitude | Political news

Party leaders in countries that were kept in Britain had asked Sir Keir Starmer to impose direct sanctions against Israel and said waiting until September to recognize the Palestinian state “was too late”.

Senior leaders and politicians from the parties in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales said they were “united in our in -depth care and opposition to your government’s continuous support for the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza”.

In a letter sent to Sir Keir on Monday, they urged him to remember parliament so that parliament members could choose to bring down “direct sanctions” on Israel and to “immediately end all weapons sales” to the country.

Claire Hanna, SDLP leader, Vice President Sinn Fein Michelle O’Neill, Stephen Flynn, Westminster SNP leader and Rhun AP Iorwerth, the leader of the cymru boxes in Wales, was one of the politicians who signed the letter, in an unusual mutual agreement.

They also asked the PM to support a ceasefire and “meaningful diplomatic intervention” to protect civilians and secure just and eternal peace, and to support independent international investigations on alleged war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

The leader group urged him to use the British diplomatic influence to suppress the delivery of food, water, medicines, and humanitarian assistance that “without obstacles” to the people of Gaza.

They said Hamas killed around 1,200 people in Israel and took more than 250 hostages on October 7, 2023 “and said they supported all legal” diplomatic “efforts to secure safe and unconditional returns.

However, they criticized Sir Keir for saying his government would Recognize Palestine as a state in SeptemberUnless Israel takes “substantive steps to end a terrible situation in Gaza”.

“Given the urgency of the crisis, this is too late,” they wrote.

“Every day the delay means more starvisory children, more families are torn, and more lives are lost.

“You have to act now. England cannot be involved in extending this tragedy.”

The group said that as the signing of the genocide convention, Britain had a binding obligation to prevent actions that might mean genocide and ensure accountability.

They warned that continuing to “political support, diplomatic, and military” to the government accused of carrying out these actions at risk of placing the British violating their international legal tasks.

The politicians “firmly” condemned the new murder of Journalists Al Jazeera in Gaza.

They also criticized the government’s efforts to “limit, criminalize or delegitimize” peaceful protest against government policies in Gaza, after hundreds of people supported the Palestinian action of the new group, it was forbidden to be captured early in August.
