The man kills his girlfriend for the use of the phone to take photos


The agents of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested a man for the alleged murder of his 39 -year -old girlfriend, Emem Effanga.

The spokesman for the command, DSP Timfon John, revealed it in a statement on Monday 17 March 2025.

John said the command received a relationship that the deceased was found dead in his apartment in suspicious circumstances.

John said that on the arrival on the scene, the police officers observed visible signs of violence on the face and neck, suggesting that they had been beaten and strangled to death.

The police spokesman observed: β€œThe scene was developed, documented evidence and the body was evacuated in the hospital, where it was clinically confirmed died by the medical personnel.

“The corpse was subsequently filed for the morgue for conservation and autopsy.

β€œFollowing quick investigations, the investigators tracked down the last person seen with the deceased to be suspicion, who had visited his residence on February 6.

“The suspicion was subsequently tracked down in a church in Uyo, where she tried to escape after sighting the police officers, but was quickly pursued and arrested.”

John added that during the interrogation, the suspicion confessed to visit the victim and asked to use his phone to take photos for his birthday celebration on social media.

John declared: β€œThe suspicion said that a struggle followed when the deceased refused to use his phone.

“During the struggle, she overwhelmed her, strangled her with her hands and hit her head on the floor with fist, leaving her unconscious before escaping with her phone, a super phone itel.”

He said that the victim’s phone was recovered from suspicion at the time of arrest, adding that a post mortem exam had been conducted and the cause of death had been officially documented by a pathologist.

John said: The suspicion will be accused as soon as the investigation concludes.

“The police commissioner, Baba azare, said that justice will be served and warned against all forms of domestic violence and criminal acts”.

The police spokesman urged the public to remain attentive to security and to report suspicious activities to the police.
