The Moroccan club terminates the contract of the Senegal star due to the final declarations of the AFCON

Moroccan second division club USM Oujda have terminated the contract of Senegalese midfielder Issa Ndiaye following controversial remarks linked to the outcome of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.

The development comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) appeals panel last Tuesday annulled Senegal’s triumph at the 2025 AFCON and awarded a 3-0 victory to Morocco, a decision that sparked widespread reactions across the continent.

Following the ruling, USM Oujda confirmed that they had parted ways with Ndiaye, although the club did not officially reveal the exact reason for terminating his contract.

However, reports suggested the decision was linked to the midfielder’s reaction to the CAF verdict, with Ndiaye reportedly mocking the outcome, a move said to have angered club officials.

His remarks were reportedly considered disrespectful, especially considering the national importance of the ruling for Moroccan football, requiring swift disciplinary action by the club’s management.
