The Navy dismantled the illegal refineries, arrest 3 in Delta

Escravos The Basis of the Advanced Operations (FOB) from the Nigerian Navy has deactivated eight illegal purification locations and arrested three suspects in the Delta state.

FOB Commander, Navy Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, revealed this to journalists on Friday in Warri.

He said the purification site was deactivated in a series of coordinated operations in the Obodo Omadina community, Warri South Government of the state.

The commander added that the operation was in line with the ongoing Delta Sanity II operation in Delta Niger.

“Specifically, on June 6, 2025, the operators who acted on intelligence that could be followed up to dismantle three illegal purification locations in the Obodo Omadino community.

“These sites contain 4,660 liters of stolen crude oil and 1,125 liters of automotive gas oil that are illegally enhanced (then) stored in one oven, 19 resting holes and 15 sacks of plastic.

“Also, on June 13, two additional sites were demolished in Oteghele, also inside Obodo Omadino. The operation caused a recovery of 8,400 liters of stolen crude oil, stored in 21 resting holes.

“Likewise, on June 19, 2025, three additional illegal purification sites were discovered and demolished in Oteghele.

“It is estimated that 7,650 liters of stolen crude oil and 2,100 liters are illegally enhanced and then found from 26 resting holes and 28 sacks of plastic.

“Cumulatively, the basis for deactivating eight illegal purification locations and confiscates around 20,710 liters of stolen crude oil and 3,225 liters that are illegally enhanced.

“These products were found in two ovens made locally, 66 resting holes and 43 sacks of plastic,” Okoloagu said.

He explained that the Anti-Crude Oil Theft Team was deployed to Shame Jacket 19, off the coast of Escravos, operated by Chevron Nigeria Limited, on June 15, after receiving credible information.

“The team at the arrival found a wooden boat connected to the platform through a hose, sucking crude oil.

“The boat, equipped with a Yamaha 40HP paste engine, was confiscated and three suspects were arrested.

“In addition, a speedboat equipped with a 200HP Yamaha Paste engine was also confiscated in the operation,” he concluded
