Nigerian Army troops have reportedly killed several prominent terrorists and recovered a number of deadly weapons, including rocket bombs and ammunition in the operation.
The army revealed this in a post on its official Twitter account on Tuesday, saying that continuous attacks to stifle the freedom of action of criminals across the country continue.
The force revealed that four terrorists were killed in an attack on Boko Haram strongholds in Ajiri and Mastari villages in Bama local government area of Borno State on September 29.
The post read: “A careful search of the area uncovered the following: two Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs, two AK-47 magazines, 28 rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition, 25 rounds of 7.62mm Submachine Gun ammunition .62×54 mm, and Submachine Gun Barrel.

“Troops also managed to neutralize other terrorists in another encounter at Banki Junction in Bama LGA.
“In Plateau State, troops acting on intelligence carried out a raid operation that led to the capture of two notorious kidnappers, Isah Abdullahi (24) and Mujahid Musa (23), in the Panyam mountain forests.
“Preliminary investigations revealed their involvement in a series of violent attacks in villages in Mangu LGA.
“The items seized during the operation included two motorbikes, three cell phones and various equipment.
“In a related operation, troops arrested a notorious arms dealer, Kabiru Zaki, in Jos South Local Government Area of Bukuru Municipality, along with other suspects, in connection with the recent murders in Brazongo village, Bassa LGA.”
