The Nigerian government involved Armenia to evacuate the Nigerians who were stranded in Israel, Iran

Nigerian Foreign Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, said the federal government had involved the Armenian government to evacuate the Nigerians who were stranded in Israel and Iran when the conflict between the two countries continued to increase into full war.

Tuggar, who reacts to media reports that Nigerian citizens have been abandoned in Iran in the midst of an ongoing war with Israel, said the government will not leave its citizens and have involved the Armenian government to assist in the evacuation of Nigerians who are trapped in Tehran in the midst of reduced conflict.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by a ministry spokesman, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Tuggar said the Ministry’s attention was focused on what he described as a misleading and baseless media report that the Nigerian embassy officials in Iran had left them to their value.

“The Nigerian embassy in Tehran remains operational and is fully committed to the welfare and safety of all Nigerian citizens in Iran,” the statement said.

“Responding to developments, the embassy is actively involved with the Armenian government to secure access to Nigerian evacuation through Jerevan,” the Minister said.

He explained further that due to the ongoing security problems and consistent bombings in Tehran, the normal work schedule had been disrupted, with the staff of the embassy currently working remotely.

But Tuggar, urged Nigerians in Iran who needed help to contact the embassy through emergency numbers and emails.
