The federal government has introduced a special training program for elite military personnel, gathered 800 troops from the Army, Navy and the Nigerian Air Force.

This initiative aims to increase national security by completing personnel with sophisticated skills to fight terrorism, rebellion, cyberspace threats, and transnational crimes.

The Minister of Defense, Mohammed Abubakar, officially launched a special operating force training on Monday at Camp Kabala at Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna. He stressed that this program was designed to create a very skilled, agile, and ready-mission power that was able to carry out special operations in a complex environment.

“This special operating force training is a strategic initiative that aims to increase our operational effectiveness in combating terrorism, rebellion, transnational crime, and other asymmetrical threats that make our big country,” Abubakar said.

He highlighted the need for elite forces who were able to handle developing security threats, added, “This special operating force will function as a critical pillar in securing our national sovereignty, protecting citizens, and maintaining peace and stability inside and outside our borders.”

According to the Minister, the training program will complement personnel with expertise in special combat tactics, counterterrorism operations, intelligence collection, and hostage rescue missions.

“This program will prepare training participants for high-risk missions in urban and hostile environments, ensuring they can adapt to dynamic threats.
