The governor of 19 states in the north on Saturday urged the federal government to review strategies to overcome security challenges in the region.
They made a call at a meeting with the North Northern State Governor Forum and the Northern Traditional Ruler Council at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim government building in Kaduna.
However, 14 governors were physically present at the meeting.
The governors are the Lawal Dauda (Zamfara), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe) Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Ahmed Findiri (Adamawa), Kefas Agbu (Taraba), and Abdullah.
The others are Mai Malam Buni (Yobe), Mohammed Bago (Niger), Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), Caleb Mutfwang (highlands), Dikko Radda (Katsina) and Ahmed Ododo (Kogi).

Countries Bauchi, Borno, Benue, Kano, and Kwara were represented by their deputy governor.
The governors in a communication issued at the end of the meeting and were read by the head of the forum, Yahaya, expressed concern about the rise of Boko Haram’s activities in northeast and murder in the north-middle.
They also condemned poor infrastructure in the region.
“We must work together to overcome the security challenges faced by our region. We must increase our security steps to protect our citizens and ensure their safety,” they said.
