The governor of 19 states in the north on Saturday reiterated their support for the creation of the state police and urged the National Assembly to accelerate the action of the legal framework to take off.
They made in the communications issued at a joint meeting with the Governor of the northern state and the northern traditional ruling council at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim government building in Kaduna and was signed by the Chairperson of the Forum, Governor Inuwa Yahaya from the State of Gombe.
However, 14 governors were physically present at the meeting.
Also at the meeting was Governor of Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Ahmed Fintiri (Adamawa), Kefas Agbu (Taraba), and Abdullahi Sule (Nonawawa).
The others are Mai Malam Buni (Yobe), Mohammed Bago (Niger), Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), Caleb Mutfwang (highlands), Dikko Radda (Katsina) and, Ahmed Ododo (Kogi).
Countries Bauchi, Borno, Benue, Kano, and Kwara were represented by their deputy governor.

The governor decided to immediately arrange platforms between countries to coordinate supervision at the border.
They also decided to work together with the Nigerian Governor Forum to work on modality about how to increase support for federal security institutions to strengthen strange local initiatives in fighting all forms of security challenges in the zone.
The Governor acknowledged the importance of non-party, collaboration, and peer review cooperation in effectively handling various developmental challenges faced by the region and state in general
They praised the President of the Tinubu Soccer for their sustainable commitment to overcome the challenges of security and infrastructure deficits in the north.
