The operators of the Lagos court sent home, the journalists denied access compared to Jusun Strike

On Monday 2 June 2025, the operators of the Federal High Court of Lagos have joined their counterparties to undertake a strike called by the union of the judicial staff of Nigeria (Jusun).

The workers were commissioned to return home by Jusun officials, who were seen in the premises.

The union had, on May 30, he had commissioned all his chapters to direct their members to stay at home from 1 June.

The union was pressing for the payment of a five -month salary premium, including the implementation of the minimum wage N70,000, as well as salary increases by 25 % and 35 %.

The High Court of Lagos, as well as lawyers, disputes and journalists who arrived in court was denied access.

The strike also influenced food sellers in the court’s premises, which were equally aimed at returning home.

There were previous news of some chapters of Jusun who retired from the strike, but the doors of the Federal Court of Lagos remained closed.

The strike has not influenced the courts of the high courts and the courts of the magistrates.
