The Plateau legislator invites the military to face insecurity in the Dong community

A member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Na’Ah, invited the 3rd battleship division of the Command (Goc), the main general Folusho Oyinlola, to intensify the efforts to curb insecurity and kidnapping in the Dong community, in the local government area of ​​Jos.

Hon. Na’Ah appealed during a visit to condolences to the community following recent accidents of murders and kidnappings of the residents.

He expressed concern about the worsening of the security situation, observing that he was unacceptable for communities in the immediate vicinity of a military training to continue to suffer repeated attacks.

“It is disturbing that while the 3rd battleship division is nearby, the residents are still kidnapped and attacked. We appeal to the Goc to face the question to allow our people to live in peace,” he said.

The legislator underlined the need for greater intervention by federal security agencies, underlining that the responsibility to face the crisis went beyond the state government.

“We cannot continue to be sympathizers all the time. We invite his excellence, the president of Nigeria, to further support the current security efforts in the state of the plateau. If the situation has not prompted promptly, it could deteriorate further,” he warned.

Hon. Na’ah also said that some suspicious attackers and kidnappers previously arrested and transferred to force the headquarters to Abuja have been released subsequently and have since returned to terrorize the community.

He said these actions undermined the trust of the public in the judicial system.

The legislator also noticed that many residents were already fleeing dong for fear of their safety, describing the situation as “passing from bleeding to kidnapping”.

He assured that the Chamber of the State of the State of the Plateau was committed to working in synergy with the security agencies providing legislative support for the efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in affected communities.
