An inspector attached to the State Police Command, identified as Maxwell Zubu has presumably killed himself.
According to reports, he shot himself in the Axis of Eagle Island of Port Harcourt Tuesday.
It was said that Zabu was a security detail for a former president of the local government area of ββPort Harcourt City.
The details of the accident were sketched at the time of the presentation of this publication.
The circumstances that led to his death could not be immediately ascertained.
The accident was reported in the police post to Eagle Island, who is under the Police Division of Azikiwe in Illabouchi in Mile 2 Dibu, Port Harcourt.
A police source said: “Some policemen from the Azikiwe Police Division visited the scene as part of the preliminary investigation procedures”.
When contacted, the spokesman for the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the accident.
However, she did not provide details.
Iringe-Koko, police superintendent, said that an investigation was underway to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of his death.
He said: “Yes, I can confirm, but we started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident and will make our results public.
“For now, the issue has been transferred to the criminal investigation department and state intelligence in Port Harcourt for a detailed investigation.”
