The police killed the kidnapper suspect, arrested 5 suspects in Enugu

The police operation in Enugu had killed a kidnapper suspected and arrested five suspects in the state.

Spokesman for State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, said in a statement on Friday at Enugu that the operators rescued a victim and recovered AK-47 rifles with two rounds of life ammunition in the operation.

The operators also recovered the Toyota Corolla car, ₦ 10 million cash obtained as a ransom and other burdensome exhibitions.

According to a spokesman, the operators reached achievements through a series of operations driven by intelligence carried out from 5 July to 16 July.

He said: “On July 16, at 3:00 pm, the operators attached to the OKPUJE Division, in collaboration with members of the Neighbourhood Watch, forest guard, and local hunters, quickly responded to the call of trouble regarding the alleged armed kidnappers.

“The armed kidnappers were seen in the forest in the OKPUJE-MANI community in the NSUKKA Regional Government area.

“Upon arrival, the armed suspects involved the team. The operators returned the shot, neutralizing one of the suspects while the other fled.

“One AK-47 rifle loaded with two rounds of life ammunition was found from a neutralized suspect.”
