The police saved the kidnapped girl, holding three suspects in Enugu

The police operation in Enugu has saved a kidnapped girl and arrested three suspects in the Ishiagu community in the Ezeagu regional government in the state.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, said in a statement on Wednesday at Enugu that police operators attached to the Umumba Division in collaboration with environmental guard personnel and alert community members rescued a 13 -year -old girl allegedly kidnapped for rituals on Tuesday morning.

He said: “The main suspect, said to be a native doctor and a prominent community member, escaped from the scene and is currently free.

“During the rescue, two bodies that rot, one male and one female, were found buried in a hole that was sealed concrete in a building that was not finished, owned and used as a temple by the main suspect who escaped.

“Investigations revealed that the victims who died had just been killed and buried in a hole by the suspects for ritual purposes, and children who were saved for a few moments from suffering the same fate before the intervention on time.”

“In line with the law, the Enugu state government has destroyed buildings owned by the main suspects who escaped and used for criminal companies.

“The Commissioner of the State Police, Mr. Mamman Giwa, who immediately visited the crime scene, had praised the efforts of police operations, local security groups, and community members, whose collaboration was ensuring the success of the operation.

“The commissioner also directed the tactical team of command, as well as the investigation and intelligence unit to intensify efforts in tracking the suspects who escaped and the other accomplices were still free.”
