The publicist Nnpp faces Kwankwaso for using the party name to attack the presidency

The national advertising secretariat of the New Nigeria People’s Party (Nnpp), Dr. Oginni Olaposi, issued a severe warning to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, pushing him to desist from the use of the party name in attacks not caused to the presidency.

In a declaration issued on Sunday 18 May in Lagos, Olaposi stressed that the affiliation of Kwankwaso with the party ended after the general elections of 2023, in which he was nominated for the presidency.

Olaposi declared that the Memorandum of understanding between the NNPP movement and the Kwankwasiya movement, led by Kwankwaso, had long been interrupted.

He added that Kwankwaso had been formally expelled on the side and therefore has no authority to speak on behalf of the nnpp.

“Kwankwaso should stop parading himself as a member of our party to launch attacks against all progressive Congress (APC) and the presidency,” said Olaposi.

“He has no official position in the NNPP beyond his previous role of presidential candidate in 2023.”

By reiterating the leadership of the party, Olaposi said that dr. Boniface Aniebonam remains the founder and president of the NNPP of the Foundation Council.

He described Aniebonam as a leader of principle that arises from making reckless statements against the constituted authorities.

The declaration stressed that any observation made by Kwankwaso or his collaborators do not represent the official position of the NNPP.

“We move away from the recent comments of Kwankwaso who criticize President Bola Tinubu.

“These are his personal opinions and those of his collaborators expelled, not the NNPP,” Olaposi observed.

He recalled that Kwankwaso recently lost a legal battle against the leadership led by Nnpp at the High Court in Abuja on April 3.

Olaposi said he was on behalf of the party, which clings to the apologies to the president Tinubu and the national president of the APC, dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, for what he called Kwankwaso inappropriate expressions.

“As a responsible political party, we believe in contributing to national development through constructive commitment with government policies, not through insults or confusion,” said Olaposi.

He also declared that individuals like Kwankwaso, the elderly Buba Galadima and the former members of the national work committee led by Dr. Ahmed Ajuji were legally expelled from the party.

Their expulsions, he said, were confirmed by the judgments of the court in the state of Abia and in the territory of the federal capital.

The NNPP invited the Independent National Electoral Commission (INC) to update its registers to reflect these legal decisions and urged the public and the media to refrain from identifying Kwankwaso as the leader of the NNPP.

“At best, it can be described as the leader of the Kwankwasiya group,” concluded Olaposi, underlining that the NNPP remains a recorded political party and not a private organization.
