Resident in the area of the local government of Jangebe, Talata Mafara in the state of Zamfara, Muhammad Mukhtar, criticized the governor Dauda Lawal Osa for the worsening of hosiciness in the state.
Mukhtar, speaking with the journalists of Gusau, said that the administration of the governor Lawal was unable to face the growing wave of bandits, kidnappings and killings.
Mukhtar recalled that during his visit to the 2023 campaign in Jangebe, Governor Lawal promised to end the insecurity that afflicts Zamfara.
“He looked at us in the eye and said he would bring peace. But today the situation is even worse,” Mukhtar said.
The resident concerned complained of the strong tribute to the rural communities, where residents continue to live under constant siege from armed groups.
“Just yesterday, eleven people were killed and over 100 kidnapped. Yet the governor remains silent,” said Mukhtar.
He also observed that any security breeding experienced in some parts of the state was due to interventions by the federal government and military forces.
Mukhtar accused the governor of disconnecting from the realities faced by ordinary citizens and requested urgent action.
“This is not what we voted for. People expected leadership, not silence,” he said.
