The rogue elements leaked the resignation of Atiku – Aide

The media councilor of the former vice -president Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, explained that the letter that confirmed Atiku’s resignation from the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) was not seen by the public.

During an interview on Arise News on Wednesday evening, July 16, 2025, Ibe said that the letter was leaked by people who did not support Atiku’s political ambitions.

“We are here because the people who have never wanted to excellence Atiku Abubakar have leaked his communication. Yes, he was leaked,” he said.

Ibe also said that the times of the loss were suspicious, as happened while the country in mourning for the death of the former president Muhammadu Buhari.

He believed that the move was politically motivated.

He criticized the Mine of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for having commented on the question instead of focusing on the problems that face the aviation sector.

“It is a pity that the aviation minister, who rather should worry about serious issues of aeronautical issues and there are many, like tracks and better infrastructures, has jumped in this fray as if he knew what an accident caused even before investigations,” Ibe said.

He said that the loss was not accidental, but a planned action by those who described as “rogue elements in the PDP who worked in order with the members of the APC”.

He urged the public not to let the situation distract from the national mourning period.

“Those who claim to know why they resigned are clarified?

Attiku’s resignation became public after a letter dated July 14, 2025, addressed to its president of the department in the state of Adamawa, was leaked.

In the letter, Atiku said he was leaving the party because of “irreconcilable differences” and that he had expressed disappointment in the direction that the PDP had taken, saying that he no longer reflected his fundamental principles.
