The security agents in Nigeria recorded significant successes in the fight against the kidnapping and traffic of weapons, with coordinated operations that led to the rescue of the victims and the arrest of the infamous criminals.
According to a declaration issued on Friday by the public relations officer of the Force, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, police staff, working in collaboration with other security agencies, saved 11 victims of kidnappings in the state of Katsina following a ferocious battle of weapons with a band of armed bandits.
The rescue took place on June 8, 2025, when a joint patrol task force along the road of the Danmusa village -mara Dangeza in the area of ββthe local government of Danmusa intercepted the kidnappers.
The agents hired the gang in an exchange of shots, forcing the criminals – who fled from a gun wounds – to abandon the victims. All 11 hostages were saved rage.
In a separate operation in the state of the delta, the police arrested a key figure in a state kidnapping union.
The suspicion, Abubakar Hassan, 30 years old, confessed that he had guided numerous kidnappings along the Ughelli -Ozoro route and revealed the position of the hiding place of his gang in a forest near Ozoro.
A raid on the hiding place led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, four magazines and 32 shots of live ammunition. His arrest follows the previous capture of three other members of the band.
Further on in the state of the delta, the agents of the patrol team of the safer highways stopped a suspicious vehicle during a routine checkpoint on Ughelli Road.
Research has discovered a rifle rifle produced locally and 15 live cartridges.
The driver, Obi Ezekiel, 38, was arrested on the spot.
In addition to these discoveries, ACP Adejobi revealed that the police contrasted an operation of smuggling in the state of the delta, seizing a significant cache of illegal firearms and ammunition.
The police inspector general, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, praised the courage and professionalism of the agents involved in these operations.
He urged all police commands at national level to support the momentum in facing violent crime.
“The Nigerian police force is determined to ensure that there is no safe refuge for criminals anywhere in our country,” said Igp Egbetokun.
