The SDP Presidents’ Forum welcomes the new national president


Presidents of the Forum Social Democratic Party (SDP) have hailed its new National President, Prof. Sadiq Abubakar Gombe, for his new role as the effective president of the party.

According to a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Secretary of the SDP State Presidents’ Forum, Idris Adamu, the forum said the confirmation of Professor Gombe by the National Executive Council (NEC) reflects its broad support.

The statement reads: The SDP State Chairmen’s Forum, led by the Hon. Femi Olaniyi Ferrari, is pleased to congratulate our National President, Prof. Sodiq Abubakar Gombe on his new role and opportunity to lead the party. His confirmation by the National Executive Council reflects its broad support.

“We also commend our national working committees for their resilience and dedication in elevating the party to its current esteemed status.

“Furthermore, we thank all party leaders and stakeholders, including our former presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections, for his moral and financial support. His contributions have been invaluable in shaping the progress of the party.

“The forum also congratulates our newly confirmed state presidents and prays that God grant them the wisdom to effectively lead our party in their respective states.

“However, we would also like to extend our congratulations to our esteemed colleagues who have been appointed as executive members of the SDP Presidents’ Forum.

“The nominated members are as follows: Hon. Femi Olaniyi Ferrari as Chairman of Presidents (COC); Abba Modu as Vice President for the Northern Region; Hon. Okunlade Michael as Deputy for the Southern Region; Mr. Adamu Idris as Secretary; Mr. Idoko Itodo as Deputy Secretary; Mr. Kingsley Obina Agbo as Treasurer; Mr. Allen Amadien as Publicity Secretary; Barrister Yerima Yakubu as Legal Adviser; and Mr. Willington Odiong serves as Ex officio. We wish them a successful tenure in the office.

“In this context, we call on all members nationwide to continue their outreach efforts. Nigerians now have a credible alternative in the Social Democratic Party (SDP), which represents the only party in Nigeria that is stable, united and committed to a reliable manifesto capable of driving the nation’s intended progress and transformation.”
