The Senate Committee for the Army praised the troops of the Operation Hadin Kai (ophk) for their gallantry, resilience and dedication in the operations under the counter-insurrection in the north-east.

The president of the Committee, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, gave praise on Tuesday during a supervision visit to the theatrical command of the headquarters, ophk, at the corn cantonment in Maiduguri.

He said that the visit was in line with the constitutional responsibility of the National Assembly to guarantee the responsibility in the use of funds allocated to the Nigerian army.

Yar’adua praised the troops for their altruistic service and the sacrifices in the face of persistent security challenges in the region.

“We are here to express our profound appreciation to the gallant troops of the Operation Hadin Kai. Your unshakable courage and the commitment to the defense of our country do not go unnoticed,” he said.

The president also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continuous support for the military, ensuring that the committee would have worked to support funding for operational logistics and the well -being of troops.

He promised that the key observations and requests made during the visit would be submitted to the appropriate authorities for an urgent consideration.

In his observations, the commander of the theater, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar described the visit as a strong moral booster for troops and a reflection of the concern of the Senate for national security and the well -being of the soldiers.

“Your presence here today shows a true understanding of the realities that we face on the ground and your desire to support the troops that are putting their lives in line every day,” he said.

He reaffirmed the determination of the troops pursuant to the Hadin Kai operation to remain professional and engaged in the final defeat of terrorism and the restoration of lasting peace in the north-east.

The visit presented a series of commitments, including operational briefing, inspection of ongoing projects, signature of the register of visitors and group photographs.
