A former Lagos University student, Chidinma Ojukwu, who was accused of killing the Chief Executive of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, said on Tuesday that the statement he made during the police interrogation was under pressure.
Ojukwu testified in his defense in the Lagos State High Court who sat in the Tafawa Balewa field.
He was charged by the Lagos State Government along with one Adedapo Quadri and his sister, Chioma Egbuchu, for the killing of the CEO of Super TV in 2021.
They were charged on October 12, 2021, on charges of nine murder counts, stealing, and forgery.
At the continued trial, Ojukwu said that because of fear, the investigation police officer (IPO) was identified as Bamidle, and his team entered him, he could not deviate from the narrative they set for him.
He said: “I told me what the IPO asked me to tell the Head of the State Police State Lagos.”
Ojukwu was led as evidence by his advisor, Mr. EGWU OPPLOAD.
The defendant said that after he was arrested on June 23, 2021, the IPO gathered his phone and asked him to enter the password, which he did.
He testified that the IPO found the name of his sister on his contact list, asked him to confirm, and then wrote him.

He said the IPO also asked about his laptop and visited to Computer Village, Ikeja.
Ojukwu added: “He asked what laptop I sold, and I answered it was a macbook. When he asked where I sold it, I told him that it was to a telephone seller. He then recorded the address of the vendor.”
“He asked me about the source of marijuana that I smoke, and I told him that someone supplied him.
“He asked: ‘The marijuana you said you and Michael smoke, where did you get it? I said,’ Quadri. ‘
“Bamidele said: ‘Can I have a telephone number? I said,’ That is on my phone ‘. He gathered a number and wrote it.
“Then he asked: ‘Where is the Michael ATM card? I said,’ I am not with Michael’s ATM card.
“He said: Five million Naira was withdrawn and then N20,000 was withdrawn several times, with a total of N5,380,000.
“I said,” Sir, I don’t know anything about that. “
The defendant also told the court that after the interrogation, Bamidle said he got some evidence and asked him to write his statement. “
