Nigerian international striker Terem Moffi’s participation in Ligue 1 club Nice from the start of next season has been cast into doubt, OwngoalNigeria.com reports.

Nice are currently in training for the final round of preparations before the start of Ligue 1, but their Nigerian striker has not been involved in preparations due to injury.

We have learned that the 25-year-old has suffered a knock that will likely keep him out for a considerable period of time, effectively ruling him out for the start of the season.

Moffi, who has scored a total of 20 goals in 52 games since joining from fellow Ligue 1 side Lorient, is certain that his absence will affect their hopes of getting the season off to a good start.

However, this could open the door for another Nigerian, Victor Orakpo, to be part of the starting line-up. The 18-year-old joined the team six months ago but has already broken into the first team after a string of goals for the youth team.
