Nottingham Forest completed their preparations for the start of the new English Premier League season with a 4-3 win over Greek side Olympiacos, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Coach Nuno Espirito Santo gave an idea of ββwhat to expect from the team that will play its first game of the season on Saturday, leaving out three players from the squad that travelled to Greece.
All three players are believed to have no future at the club and have been told to look elsewhere as the club cannot take on a player who is on a high wage but is not in the manager’s plans due to the Profit and Sustainability Rule (PSR).
Among the players is Nigerian international striker Emmanuel Dennis, who has failed to make a name for himself since joining the team two seasons ago from Watford. His failure to break into the starting XI has forced him to spend time away from the club on two loan spells.
He returned at the end of last season and took part in the majority of pre-season games and training exercises, but it appears the decision has been made that it is best for the 26-year-old to find somewhere where he can play, as he is not in Forest’s plans for the new season.
