The Ijaw youth advice (IYC) warned that it would not tolerate the threat (UPU) of the union of the progress (UPU) against the security service of tantanus, saying that it should retire now or be ready to face the full anger and resistance of the Ijaw young people.
The IYC gave the warning following the recent letter of UPU to the National Security Councilor, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu who asked for the resolution of the surveillance contract of the pipeline of Tanta and its reassignment to a security outfit of the urhobo exclusively.
Its president, Theophilus Alaye, in a declaration released on Monday, said that the UPU move was nothing more than ethno-political blackmail, dangerous enough to threaten the whole unit and national security.
He argued that the request for UPU that the contract of tantanus was “decentralized and restarted” to the Urhobo, or “would no longer guarantee the flow of oil to the Forcados terminal” was fundamental and hypocritical.
Alaye added: βWe reject these cowardly and criminal tactics to the strongest terms. Tantan security services, led by the president, the high head of the Tompolo head and the vice -president, Matthew Tonlagha offered measurable security benefits: to relive oil production from an accident of 650,000 bpds and a theft of pipes almost eliminating in the Hacbles.
βEven the leaders of Urhobo such as Mayor Akpodoro and the security assistant of the state of Delta, Godwin Okporoko, publicly reproached the reckless acrobatics of UPU and have reaffirmed that the young urhobos are employed and benefit from the security services of tantaus.
“Let this be our ultimatum: the IYC and all the IJAW communities will mobilize and take every measure – legal, political and direct – to defend this contract. We will not retain from a thumb from the protection of a safety agreement that restores dignity, improves oil revenues and regional stability based on the base.”
The Council invited President Bola Tinubu, Riadu and the interested parties to ignore the UPU ethnic tank. Don’t be distracted by their blackmail.
“For the UPU: your threats are equivalent to the economic war. Indiai now, or be ready to face the full anger and resistance of the Ijaw young people and our allies through the Niger delta,” he said.
