The troops drove the Iswap terrorist attack on Borno (Video)

Nigerian army troops under the Hadin Kai operation have succeeded in driving out coordinated attacks by West African provincial fighters (ISWAP) in the Bita and Damasak community in Borno states.

The Army, in a statement about the official X grip on Friday, said the troops launched land and air strikes simultaneously in the terrorist position in Bita, neutralizing more than 60 terrorists in the process.

“In the operation that determines and is coordinated, the Hadin Kai operational force is a dashing launching land and air attack simultaneously in terrorist positions in Bita, Borno State, in the early hours of the morning. Intense battles resulting in neutralization of at least 60 terrorists,” the statement said.

In the Damasak Front, Anti-Safety and Security Expert, Zagazola Makama also reported that Nigerian troops recorded the same success.

In a post accompanied by a video he shared in his x -grip, Makama wrote:

“The Nigerian troops placed in Damasak succeeded in expeling coordinated attacks by the West African Provincial Fighters (ISWAP) last night, military sources have confirmed.

“It is known that the attack on the military position occurred at around 21:00 (2100 hours), when it was suspected that the Iswap rebel launched a surprise attack in the city, which is located near the Nigerian border with the Republic of Niger.

“The attackers, reported in large quantities and heavy armed, met with strong resistance from troops on land.

“According to the initial field report, the soldiers involved terrorists in a prolonged shootout, effectively thwarting attacks and forcing the rebels to resign with victims.

“Military officials praised the vigilance and rapid response of the personnel involved, noting that their efforts to prevent what could be a significant violation of security in the strategic northeast city.

“Damasak, the main location in the state of Borno, remains the target of ISWAP because of its closeness to the international border and the Humanitarian Center.

“The Nigerian army has increased its operations in the region in recent days, aiming to reduce the movements and influence of terrorist groups.”
