The troops saved 11 people who were kidnapped in Benue, Taraba

The Wirel Stroke Operation Troop (OPWS) has saved 11 kidnapped people and found weapons and ammunition caches in the coordinated offensive in all parts of the ben and taraba countries.

A military source told reporters on Monday that the bold operation was carried out by the Operations forces of the Whirl Stroke (OPWS), between Saturday and Sunday.

He added that the operation was led by the Commander, Colonel Ko Bukoye with air support from the air component and blocking the maneuver by Sector III in Gindin Mangoro, the Wukari Regional Government in the State of Taraba.

According to him, simultaneous attacks targeted criminal hiding places in the general area of Tse-Ahur and Chito from the Ukum regional government in the Benue state.

“Operation, which shows the coordination of strategic joint forces, resulted in successful involvement with the alleged kidnapper.

“After contact, the troops were overwhelmed by the enemy with a superior firing power, which led to the arrest of two suspects while others fled, leaving prisoners and weapons.

“The mission of the search and completion of follow -up causes the recovery of 11 hostages, consisting of four women and seven men. All victims receive medical attention and are being processed to be reunited with their families.

“Items that are restored from a criminal pocket include four FN rifles, three G3 rifles, four AK-47 rifles, one PKT machine rifle, one Dane weapon that was made locally, and several magazines and various Kalibre rounds.

“The troops also found smoke tubes and fetish charm,” he said.
