The troops thwarted terror attacks, saving victims in Kebbi, highlands, 4 others

The troops deployed to various operations theater have thwarted terror attacks and saved victims who were kidnapped throughout the country in the last 24 hours.

They also recover weapons and equipment in operations.

A source at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army told reporters on Saturday that the operation included the states of Kebbi, Katsina, Edo, Niger, highlands, and Abia.

He said Yamma’s Operation Fansan troops in Kebbi responded to a tribal call to terrorist activities in Dundaye Village, the Augie Regional Government in the state around 19:30 on Friday.

He said: “At the time of arrival, it was discovered that the terrorists had killed two civilians and cows who were rustling.

“The troops chased the criminals through their withdrawal routes, even though there was no contact.

“Our troops continue to dominate the area with patrols to deny the freedom of terrorist acting.”

The source added that the 17 brigade troops in the state of Katsina also responded to shots in the Layin Minista Village, Malumfashi Lga, at 10:50 noon on the same day.

“In the troops of vision, the terrorists fled after kidnapping two women.

“The troops maintain an aggressive patrol in the area to restore public confidence and secure the release of the victims.

“In Edo, 4 brigade troops under the Mesa operation, conducted a search and rescue operation (SAR) in the Ugboha community, Esan Lga Southeast, at midnight on August 29.

“The troops saved one civilian who was kidnapped on August 27 around the Amedokhai community while on the way to farm. Efforts were ongoing to reunite him with his family.

“Likewise, the Babanna FOB Babanna troops in Niger State found AK-47 magazine which was loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition left by rebels during the previous meeting,” he added.
