The troops thwarted the Iswap attack, killing terrorists in Borno

The Kai Hadiin Operations forces on Tuesday thwarted a large attack by Islamic terrorists for the West African Province (ISWAP) at their location in New Marte, Borno State, and killed many rebels.

They also recover weapons, vehicles and explosives from terrorists.

Acting Director of the Army Public Relations, the OPHK Headquarters Theater Command, Captain Reuben Kovangiya said in a statement that the terrorists tried to infiltrate the position of troops in the early days of Tuesday, but they were rejected by military men.

The spokesman said: “Weapons battles ensued, with reinforcements from Garrison Brigade Task Force 24 and 134 Special Forces Battalions were quickly mobilized to drive the attacks.

“The troops are supported by the OPHK air component, which provides real-time intelligence, supervision, and offensive air strikes.

“Air strikes destroyed several motorbikes used by the rebels who escaped, while land troops recovered improvised explosive SUVs that were transmitted through vehicles (VBED) left during terrorist retreats.

“The exploitation of the area causes the recovery of VBED and the discovery of a lifeless terrorist body.

“The trail of blood was also observed along the route of their withdrawal, showing additional victims.”

He said two soldiers died during the meeting, noting that their sacrifice would not be in vain. “
