On Sunday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced a new 1.6 billion sterling agreement ($ 2 billion) which would allow Ukraine to purchase 5,000 air defense missiles using export financing.
The British Ministry of Defense said that Thales (TCFP.PA) will produce light-mothyrole missiles for Ukraine.
Thales said that missiles have a range of over 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) and can be shot by a variety of platforms on land, sea and air.
“This will be vital to protect critical infrastructures now and strengthen Ukraine in guaranteeing peace when it arrives,” Starmer told journalists in a London summit.
Russia last week launched more than 200 drones in an attack overnight, in what Ukraine said that it was the greatest attack of the genre since the beginning of the war three years ago. [Reuters]
