Thursday, a six -year -old mother, Tabitha Iliya asked a customary court sitting at Daura Road, Kaduna, to dissolve her marriage with Iliya Yaran, citing the lack of love, abandonment and domestic abuse.

Tabitha told the Court that her husband had not taken the family, forcing her to seek help elsewhere.

He admitted that he had a relationship with another man who helped her financially, in particular with the medical expenses of her daughter.

He also said that, from the accident, he stopped being intimate with his husband, who, in his opinion, returned home only once every three months because of the nature of his work.

The signatory also claimed verbal and physical abuses, claiming to have moved from their double home more than a year ago.

Telling one of their clashes, he said that once he accompanied a friend in a bar, where his husband saw her and the accusation of prostitution, even calling his son to testify the scene.

Tabitha said she left her house three days later after repeated insults and asks that she moves.

She also said that her husband threatened her life and tried to damage her with diabolical means.

During the cross -examination, the judge chair, Patience Musa, asked if he was HIV positive, to whom he replied affirmatively, adding that he contracted him “from God”.

He insisted on the fact that she no longer loved her husband and wanted tranquility.

The case was updated until 29 September for the defense hearing.

However, shortly after the update, Yaran threatened his wife in the open court, saying that he remained his wife and warning that he would “have had herself to blame” if found with another man.

The judge warned him quickly, observing that the threat had been recorded and that something had happened if something had happened.
