The wife is attracted for presumably threatening to kill her husband
A housewife, Ifeoma Okafor, appeared in front of a court of senior magistrate in Gwagwalada, FCT, on Friday for presumably threatening to kill her husband with a knife.
The accused, residing in Behind Ecwa GoodNews Church, Gwagwalada, Abuja, is facing alleged criminal intimidation and malice.
The prosecutor, Abdulahi Tanko, told the Court that the complaint, Paul Okafor, who lives on the same speech as the accused, reported the accident to the police on June 6.
Tanko said that on 1 June, the defendant knocked on the gate of the complainant and when he opened it, he saw her with a knife.
He said that the accused threatened to kill him and also threatened to stab because of a misunderstanding with each other.
The prosecutor also stated that the accused broke one of his window slits, whose value had yet to be determined.
The prosecutor said that the crime violated the provisions of the sections 396 and 326 of the criminal code.
The defendant, however, declared himself not guilty of the accusations.
The Senior magistrate, Munir Sani admitted the accused to save the sum of N500,000 with two surety.
Sani ordered that the first surety was a biological relative of the defendant and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
He established that while the first surety must also present his national identity card or driving license, the second surety should present his declaration of account.
According to him, the declaration of account should contain the sum of the deposit as part of the conditions of deposit.
Sani postponed the case until July 16 for hearing.
