The wife of a government critic and a social media commentator in the state of Kaduna, Nura Usman, known as Naka, has shouted for the alleged abduction and torture of her husband by those suspected of being government agents.
The confused woman, Amina Ashiru, who proposed a petition to the National Security Advisor (NSA), Nuhu thousand, through the law firm, the Thunders law firm, gave a detailed account of how the couple was intercepted near the University of Bayero, Kano, where Usman is currently undergoing a graduate program.
The petition, bordering the alleged arrest that violates the law, tortured, and continued the political detention of Usman, stated that he was allegedly his eyes beaten, beaten, and bundled into the trunk of the vehicle, while his wife was slapped, threatening with weapons, and physically attacked for protesting poor government.
In the petition dated May 2, 2025, the law firm accused that Usman was kidnapped on the night of April 30 by heavy armed Fushin Kada operations, a joint security task force consisting of personnel from the Nigerian Army, Navy, DSS, Police, and other institutions.
Furthermore, claiming that the arrest of critics was ordered by strong officials in the Kaduna state government, who were allegedly a retaliation for Facebook posts made by Mr. Usman on April 28 and 29 which criticized certain government policies.
The petition also mentioned Adnan Mukhtar Buddun Wada, a close friend of Usman, who was allegedly captivated into detention with false reasons involving calls for sending fake DHL.
“We are a lawyer for Mrs. Amina Ashiru, Mr. Nura Usman’s wife, known as Naka, who lives in No. AW 54, Mando Road, Sabon Gari, Budun Wada, Kaduna – a potential politician with a bright future, on the name we wrote,” the petition rang.
“Our clients have told us as follows: That on April 30, 2025, around 8:00 pm, she and her husband went peacefully from the University of Bayero, Kano – where Mr. Usman was registered in the master/postgraduate program – when heavy armed people were identified as members of the Fushin Kada operation around them and shot.
“He was bundled to the trunk of the vehicle, his eyes closed, beaten, and humiliated.

“When our client tried to speak for her husband, two officers identified – Mr. Ahmad Shu’aibu and Mr. Sunday – slapped, punching, and pushed him to the ground. They directed the weapon to his head and threatened to shoot him if he asked further questions.
“He only studied the details behind the arrest of her husband and existence after Mr. Adnan Mukhtar Buddun Wada – a close friend of Mr. Usman – revealed on May 1, 2025, that he had also been detained by the Fushin Kada operation.
“During his detention, Mr. Budun Wada met with the same operator – Mr. Shu’aibu and Mr. Sunday – who allegedly claimed affiliation with SIB and confirmed that Mr. Usman was arrested on the orders of a strong official in the state government of Kaduna for Facebook 28 and 29 April.
“All efforts by our clients to contact their husbands were unsuccessful. Operation Operations Fushin Kada reportedly vowed to ‘silence’ and ‘disappear’ he from the political space.
“We respectfully urged your office to immediately launch a detailed investigation of the Fushin Kada operational activities, with the aim of bringing everything responsible to the court.
“In addition, we demand direct and unconditional release from Mr. Nura Usman and stop all threats and intimidation to him and other citizens in the same situation.”
According to the petition, Usman was still detained at a Fushin Kada operating facility at Constitution Road, Kaduna, without access to legal advisors or family members, and urged NSA to launch an independent investigation of what he called “systemic abuse of the state for political repression.”
This petition emphasizes that the action of the task force “violates several constitutional provisions, including the right to personal freedom, freedom of expression, human dignity, and protection from inhuman and degrading treatment – as immortalized in sections 34, 35, 38, and 39 of the human constitution of the Federal Nigerian Republic, and supported by Africa and 39 of 1999.
The law firm also demands the release of Usman and unconditional for all further harassment, warning that failure to act will deepen public distrust in state institutions and generate naughty elements in security equipment.
