The agents of the Lagos State Police Command arrested a woman for presumably killed a 65-year-old man in the state-Egyptian area of ββthe state.
The command spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed it in a declaration issued on Sunday 27 April 2025.
Hundeyin said that the command recorded a significant turning point in the study of a recent murder case reported in the Oko-Oba division.
Hundeyin said: “On March 29, the command received a report on the murder of an unidentified man in a service apartment in the Abule-Egba area.
βThe preliminary investigations revealed that on March 27, around 5:20 pm, an unidentified woman, accompanied by the deceased, rented a service apartment.
“A few hours later, the woman left the clubs with the car and the valuables of the deceased, telling the housekeeper that he would return shortly.”
Hundeyin said that during a routine control on March 28, the lifeless body of the male victim was discovered inside the apartment.
“On the scene, the investigators recovered an empty syringe, two empty cans of malt drinks and two bottles of water,” he added.
The police spokesman revealed that the body was evacuated and deposited with the teaching mortuary of the Lagos State University (Lasuth) for the autopsy, while the efforts began to trace the suspicion.
Hundeyin said that the agents of the Department of Criminal Investigations (Scid) arrested the woman in the Oko-Oba area in Lagos at 9.30 pm on Saturday 26 March.
“The suspicion confessed to having given the deceased a drink to the malt intertwined with a poisonous substance, which led to his death,” he said.
Hundeyin observed that further discreet investigations helped the police to establish the identity of the deceased.
According to him, the suspicion remains in custody, while the investigations continue to discover further details that surround the accident.
“Updates on the case will be provided in debt time,” Hundeyin assured.
He said that the police commissioner, the CP Olohundare Jimh, reiterated the commitment of the command for the safety and safety of all Lagos residents.
