“There is nothing bigger than the state of Ogun,” answered Govt Daniel’s claim about the dismantling of property

The Ogun state government has rejected claims by former Gbenga Governor Daniel that the new demolition notification that was presented on his property was motivated politically.

In a statement issued on Saturday by a special advisor about information and strategies to the Governor, Kayode Akinmade, the state government described the claim as “distortion of a bright facts.”

The government insists that the notice is part of the city renewal and routine city planning audit, not a personal revenge.

The rebuttal followed the statement from the Daniel media office who accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of being involved in “abuse of evil and vindictive power.”

According to Daniel’s camp, notification, dated August 8, targeting his residence in Sagamu, Asoludero Court, and Conference Hotels Limited.

They accuse that the government of implementing the planning and planning law of the Ogun state planning and region in 2022 low town to destroy the structure that was legally built as far as 2004.

The notification, they added, came after the 2023 property demolition owned by Daniel’s wife in Ijebu-Ode.

The government, however, states that audit exercises are ongoing in areas ordered by the Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode government, which affects many other property owners.

This suggested Daniel to comply with the process by sending relevant documents for verification rather than politicizing the problem.

“All Otunba Gbenga Daniel needs to do, like every other person in the same situation, is to present a planning permit and land rights to relevant government agencies for verification in the specified time in the notification, rather than using cheap extortion.

“There is nothing bigger than the state. Senator Gbenga Daniel is distinguished, no doubt, but he is no bigger than the state of Ogun. He must surrender himself unconditionally to the same law that he once swore twice to uphold,” added the statement.
