This is a special group! Waldrum on the Super Falcons Olympic team

Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum said he is aware of the difficult road and challenging task ahead for his team at the 2024 Olympics.

Waldrum revealed his confidence in the team he has selected, believing they could be a special group.

“I think this could be a special group. We have shown our quality against some of the best teams in the world at the World Cup and we hope to do the same at the Olympics,” Waldrum said.

The American coach also expressed his satisfaction with the direction the team is taking, despite a difficult start.

β€œI love the direction we are taking. After a difficult start, I think we are headed in the right direction.

β€œThere is a lot of talent coming through as we are starting to move some of the older players out of the Olympics and bring in some new young talent. I think we can achieve great things at the next level.”

As part of their preparation, the Super Falcons will face Canada in a friendly match on July 17 in Seville, Spain.

Their Olympic campaign will begin against Brazil on July 25 at the Stade Bordeaux.

This will be followed by matches against Spain on 28 July and against Japan on 31 July at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.
