It was more than just touchdowns and cup in week 3 of the Showtime Summer SeriesCelebrated under the Football Federation of the Flag of Nigeria: it was a historical moment for sport in Nigeria, since the honorable Damilare Oimoloye, the special assistant of the governor of the state of Lagos in Sports, made a surprise visit to the Showtime Arena, Lekki, and went without a voice for what was witnessed.

“I am captivated,” said Damilare Orimoloye, clearly impressed. “I have been listening to this game, seen some online clips, but seeing it live? This is beyond sports, this is a movement.”
The atmosphere was electric, with the fans who cheered, the players organized a show and unmistakable energy. As the fastest growing mixed sport in the country, flag football is clearly taking into account, and the state of Lagos has noticed.

Damilare also praised the support of the Football Federation of the Flag of Nigeria (NFFF) by the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), qualifying it as a turning point on the sport trip in Nigeria.

He concluded promising his support to bring the game to even more communities:

The visit of the Honorable Damilare Orimoloye is an important nod to the growing influence of the football of the showtime flag, the largest professional mixer soccer league in Africa, and reaffirms the growing role of sport in youth development, entertainment and the construction of the community in Nigeria.
