Three killed, 40 injured in the Adamawa flood

The National Emergency Management Agency (Nemaa) said on Thursday three people were killed in the latest flash floods in the state of Adamawa.

At least 1,415 households were also affected in the incident that occurred after heavy rains in North Yola and the South Yola Regional Government in the state.

Nema confirmed the news in a quick assessment conducted in collaboration with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

The agency added that more than 40 people were injured, agricultural land and critical infrastructure were washed in the incident that affected 13 communities in two LGA.

The report reads: “A neglected family is currently protected in the host community, while some have been transferred to the residential camps flooded in Girei.

“The urgent humanitarian need is identified including food, residence, medical support, and clean water.”
