The big accident on Sunday afternoon caused panic along whatever the busy-Oshodi Expressway, Axis Iyana-Isolo, when a tanker that was full of diesel caught fire after colliding with several vehicles. Three people suffered a serious injury, even though no life was lost.
The incident, which occurred around 1:00 noon, involved tankers carrying 45,000 liters of diesel from whatever to Oshodi. The tanker reportedly crashed into a commercial minibus before being hit by two trailers-one flatbed truck and others carry a 40 feet high. The impact immediately triggered a fire outbreak.
Witnesses said the flames spread quickly, but emergency respondents arrived on time to prevent further victims.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service General Controller, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the incident, noting that rapid intervention by firefighters helped withstand the situation.
According to him, “Emergency calls were received at 13: 05 hours through the Isolo and Bolade Fire Station, which immediately mobilized personnel and equipment to the scene. Initial investigations connect the incident with a collision involving extinguishers.
Adeseye further attracts road users to do patience and comply with safety rules to prevent the tragedy in the future.
Meanwhile, the ruins of tankers and other affected vehicles are cleaned to restore the flow of free traffic on a busy freeway.
