President Bola Tinubu has accepted the resignation of his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
Ngelale, who was also the President’s Special Envoy for Climate Action, resigned from his post on Saturday for personal and health reasons.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the presidency said President Tinubu accepted the reasons for Ngelale’s resignation, fully understood them and sympathized with him on the circumstances that led to his decision.
The President prayed that his family members who were sick would recover quickly and make a full recovery.
He noted Ngelale’s efforts and dedication in serving the nation and thanked him for his contributions, especially in advancing the national discourse and leading climate action efforts and other key initiatives.
The statement read: “The President wishes him the best in all his future endeavors.
“During this period, we ask that the privacy wishes of Chief Ngelale and his family be respected.”
