President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Professor Atthiru Muhammadu Jaga, former president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INC), as a special councilor and coordinator of the presidential cattle reform.
President Tinubu announced the appointment on Friday.
Tinubu said with Jega’s appointment, hoped to guide significant progress in the cattle sector and further strengthen national development efforts.
Jega, a former vice chancellor of Bayero University, has copresiended the presidential cattle committee with the president Tinubu.
The Committee provided global recommendations that underlined the reforms of sustainable cattle.
A recommendation was the creation of the ministry of cattle, which now has a minister.
Jega, 68, is a member of the International Elections Advisory Council and the Chancellor and the President of the Government Council of the Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education in the State of Kano.
He was president of the ink between 2010 and 2015.
His appointment as a special consultant to President Tinubu should strengthen the profits of the presidential committee and guarantee the continuous momentum of reforms already on the motorbike.
