President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of four new members to the Council for the Development and Monitoring of Nigerian Content (NCDMB), filling existing vacant places and strengthening the Council’s ability.
The approved candidates are Mr. Olusgun Omosehin of the National Insurance Commission (Naicom) and Engr. Wole Ogunsanya of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (Petan).
President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Mazi Sam Azoka Onyechi, which represents the Nigerian content consultative forum (NCCF) and the lawyer Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petrolery Resource.
The nominations were born from the exit of the previous institutional representatives of the Government Council.
The NCDMB Government Council, established pursuant to section 69 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (Nogicd) Act, 2010, includes representatives of key institutions. These include the Ministry of Petrolery Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigerian (Petan), the Council for the regulation of engineering in Nigeria (Coren), the consultant of the Nigerian content (NCCF) and National Insurance (Naicom).
President Tinubu has encouraged the new members to exploit their skills and dedication to improve the development of local content in the oil industry and the gas of Nigeria.
