Tinubu arrives in Borno to visit flood victims

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, to express condolences to the government and people of the state over last week’s devastating floods.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed on Friday that at least 30 people had died and 400,000 others had been displaced by floods that followed days of heavy rain.

Initial reports suggested the floods were caused by the collapse of the Alau Dam on the Ngadda River in Maiduguri, but the Federal Government has rejected the claims.

The president arrived in the state capital at 15:15 WIB.
