President Bola Tinubu asked for a rigorous adherence to the rule of law to resolve the ongoing political crisis in the state of sparrows and restore peace and stability.
According to his special councilor for information and strategy Bayo Onanuga, the president made this appeal on Tuesday in Abuja while he was addressed to the political leaders from the South-South under the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (Pandef).
During the meeting, President Tinubu underlined the importance of respecting judicial decisions, underlining that supporting the rule of law is essential to strengthen democracy and promote harmony in the state of rivers. He urged the interested parties to demonstrate altruism and wide mentality in facing the challenges of the region and to put the general well -being of people above personal or political interests.
President Tinubu stressed that adhesion to the rule of law is the basis of any functioning democracy. He reminded leaders that his own presidency was made possible through the state of law and that respect for judicial decisions is not negotiable for peace and stability.
“This is a nation governed by the rule of law. I shouldn’t be here as president without the rule of law. I have total trust in our judiciary. We have expectations. Human beings can make mistakes, but once the court has spoken, it’s all, “said Tinubu.
He invited leaders to report the message of peace and legal conformity to the state of sparrows, exhorting them to facilitate the implementation of judicial judgments without delay. “Please return home and helps to implement the judgments of the court as soon as possible. Tinubu has outlined the efforts in progress of the Federal Government to improve the infrastructure of the Region and the economic perspectives. He highlighted the Coastal Road project in progress, which described as a turning point for economic connectivity in the Niger delta and revealed plans to work with international companies to build new maritime ports in the region.
“We are already working with international companies to build ports in the states of the Niger delta,” said Tinubu. “This will open new economic opportunities and create jobs for the people of the Region”. The president praised Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) leadership for his efforts to lead regional development. He praised dr. Samuel Ogbuku, CEO of the NDDC, for his work and urged the parties interested in supporting him in continuing the development agenda for the Region.

President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to economic reforms aimed at improving the life of the Nigerians.
