Tinubu expanded the term of office of CG Nandap’s immigration, quoting “significant progress”

Ball President Ahmed Tinubu has given an extension for the term of office Ny. Kemi Nanna Nandap as the financial supervisor of the Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS), acknowledged his leadership and progress made under his supervision.

Mrs. Nandap, an experienced immigration professional who started his career with NIS on October 9, 1989, was originally appointed by President Tinubu on March 1, 2024, with his term of office it would end on August 31, 2025.

However, in a statement released on Monday, Bayo Onanuga, a special advisor to the President about information and strategies, revealed that the President has now extended his term until December 31, 2026. This decision, according to Onanuga, is a direct result of “significant progress” witnessed in the Nigerian immigration service under the direction of Nandap.

Onanuga explained, noting that under the leadership of Nandap, Nis had “witnessed significant progress in its core mandate, with an important increase in border management, modernization of immigration processes and national security steps.”

President Tinubu’s approval for the extension indicates his trust in Nandap’s ability to continue to encourage positive changes in service. “President Tinubu praised the financial supervisor of General for the exemplary leadership and urged him to continue to dedicate him to the strategic priority of service, which is in line with the new agenda of his government,” Onanuga said.

The President also took the opportunity to “reiterate the commitment of his government to support Nigerian immigration services in fulfilling his mandate to protect Nigerian territorial integrity and promote safe, legal and orderly migration.”
