Tinubu greets General Ibrahim Babangida at 84

President Bola Tinubu felt with the former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (RTD), for his 84th birthday.

The president rejoiced by the family, friends and members of the former military leader whose eight years of domination had a strong impact on the socio-economic and political development of Nigeria.

President Tinubu celebrated the distinct military career of General Babangida, who includes the service as an instructor at the Nigerian Defense Academy, commander of the 4 reconnaissance regiment, commander of the Nigerian Army Army Army, Director of the Army and Plan Personnel and Plans and Head of the Army Staff.

The President praised the management of General Babangida of the town, stating that his military administration will be remembered for his enormous investment in infrastructure, such as the third continental bridge, and the reforms that have liberalized the Nigerian economy.

The former military leader set up the state security service, the National Intelligence Agency (Nia), the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (Frsc), among others.

President Tinubu also highlighted the role of Babangida in the creation of states and in the transfer of the federal capital from Lagos to Abuja.

Thanking him for his sacrifice and his leadership, the president prayed to Almnipotent Allah to grant the former military leader plus years and has renewed the strength.
