Tinubu handed over ₦ 1.48TRN River River RUU APPICATION FOR NASS in the middle of the Assembly Suspension

The President of the Tinubu Bola, on Thursday, officially submitted a 2025 APROPRISIA Bill for Rivers State to the National Assembly, after the new suspension from the House of the State Council.

The proposed budget, with a total of 1,481 trillion, was communicated to a senate through a letter addressed to the President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, where President Tinubu called for a quick legislative action on the fiscal plan. The submission came in the midst of political turbulence in the state and underline the intervention of the federal government to keep the government running smoothly.

Fiscal Proposal 2025 prioritizes the strategic sector with the aim of stabilizing the country’s economy and improving the quality of life of citizens. Infrastructure takes part of the lion, with ₦ 324 billion allocated for road construction, urban renewal, and transportation projects aimed at increasing connectivity and attracting investment.

In the health sector, ₦ 106 billion has been allocated, including ₦ 5 billion which is specifically set aside for the distribution of free malaria drugs. This is a step that can significantly impact public health in rural and urban communities. Education is regulated to receive ₦ 75.6 billion, reflecting the recognition of administrative learning as a tool for long -term empowerment and development.

Agriculture, which is often described as the backbone of the state rural economy, has been allocated ₦ 31.4 billion, with plans to expand food production, create market access for farmers, and increase food security.

This budget is projected to create at least 6,000 new jobs, offering a glimmer of hope in wrestling areas with unemployment and comfort of young people.

President Tinubu, in his correspondence, urged parliamentary members to pay urgent attention, quoting the need to prevent governance gap in the river state in the midst of legislative vacuum.

Senate, in response, has referred to the budget to the Ad-Hoc Committee for emergency rules, assigning it by reviewing the documents thoroughly and reporting back to the room for further legislative actions.
