Tinubu praises military for killing notorious bandit, Sububu, and others in North West

President Bola Tinubu on Saturday commended the military for successful operations against bandits in the North West.

The President in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the successes recorded in the military operations provided further assurance that the security forces were capable of securing the country.

The operation follows up on President Tinubu’s directive to department heads to move to the zone until normal conditions return.

Troops from Operation Hadarin Daji on Thursday killed a notorious bandit leader, Halilu Sububu, who had been terrorizing residents of Zamfara, Sokoto and other states in the North West.

The troops also killed a suspected terrorist, Sani Wala Burki in a joint operation in Katsina, dismantled a terrorist pocket in Kaduna, and freed 13 kidnapped students.

President Tinubu commended the military high command, intelligence agencies and troops for their valiant efforts, synergy and dedication, which yielded the latest results.

The statement read: “He also commended all security forces for enhancing national security and urged them to continue their efforts until all immediate and latent threats are permanently eradicated.

“President Tinubu assured the security agencies of his continued support in achieving the priority objective of maintaining the security and safety of the country.”
