Tinubu returns home after attending AU meeting

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja from Accra, Ghana, where he attended the 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union.

He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Sunday evening.

The President was received at the airport by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other senior government officials.

In the Ghanaian capital, Tinubu briefed African leaders on the achievements and challenges of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), of which he serves as chairman.

He said the subregional body had allocated at least $13 million to support frontline counter-terrorism efforts and humanitarian efforts in the subregion under its supervision.

Tinubu left the country for Accra on Saturday.
