Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, accused that the claim of the Tinubu Bola President was one of those who supported the cancellation of June 12, 1993, the presidential election won by MKO Abiola, by the Military Junta at that time led by General Ibrahim Babangida.
Lamido, who made the accusation during the interview program on Arise TV on Saturday night, said Tinubu was one of those who threw his weight behind the cancellation of the presidential election which was said to be the most free and fairest in the history of elections in the country.
Lamido added that the late Ms. Tinubu, Hajia Mogaji Tinubu also played a big role by organizing market women from Lagos to Abuja to show support for Babangida.
The former governor who reiterated that he was open to joining any coalition that would force Tinubu out of the office in 2027, said he was very entertained by what he described as the President’s rhetoric and the way he dramatized his role in Nigerian democracy, so his decision to make a thick statement about the president’s involvement in cleaning up June 12.

Lamido further revealed that Tinubu was in the Senate as Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), after that he became more prominent and seen in Nigeria’s politics after the governor of the late by the late General Sani Abacha
“I feel very entertained by Tinubu rhetoric, the way he dramatized his role in Nigerian democracy.
“Tinubu became relevant and seen after Abacha took over the government; before that, he was in the senate when he was the party secretary.
“He is part of the people who support the cancellation of Babangida on June 12. His own mother, Hajiya Mogaji from Lagos, organizes the women of Lagos workers to come to Abuja to promise support for Babangida.
“I say this because this is only history. I mean there is no harm in. I don’t intend to embarrass it. But you know, he actively handed over the gloves to Babangida,” Lamido said.
